–Kimberly Smerkers, who was M.Ed. when she wrote this but is now Dr. Kimberly Smerkers!
I could listen to Meggin all day. She has a very clear speaking voice and has a way of teaching that constantly makes me think “Why didn’t I think of that?!” – The materials are a great help in following along the class, and I like that Meggin allows us to contact her directly with further questions or just to tackle a sticky point in the material.
Meggin is funny, candid, and insightful at the same time. She knows what she is talking about and she does not spare her words. She tells you how things work, and clearly guides you through the various hurdles that a writer can find on her way to getting her writing done. I have gone through these lectures once already and learned a lot. But I do expect that I will repeatedly come back to them many more times. Even if you know all the theory about writing and productivity, having Meggin on your side as a guide through this program can help you get started if you need some more cajoling and sup…
Guess what I did yesterday!? Locked myself in a great hotel suite and did a full FINAL edit of my book–all 10 chapters! Finalizing the details with an Elance copy editor (professional) today. Posted another Elance request for illustrator–CAN you say “Meeting the deadline!!!!” AND all of this thanks to you and Gini!
Meggin is encouraging, supportive, clear, good direction. The exercises tie in to the information given so it’s a great lesson. See-hear-do. Materials are great.
Recommend this class? Absolutely! This conference helped me organize my program of research for the rest of the year.

Meggin creates a picture in your mind and enables you to see the possibilities. The content of the class is organized and practical. Meggin makes trying something new fun not scary!
Meggin, I felt your genuine commitment to be of service in helping to encourage and develop me as a writer.
The most helpful was the idea of pulling ideas from everywhere, which I love. I have so much writing in so many places and this made me look at it from a different perspective. I also liked the “gremlins” and “policies” podcasts. Those have been life-changing for me! 🙂

Meggin is a goldmine of ideas, resources, and advice. Her background as an academic researcher (and teacher) is evident in her workshops because they are never superficial; she always had so much stuff to offer. She really digs into the topic and has further available references if something in particular grabs a participant’s attention. I also love how she can be both really frank and humorous at the same time.
